CHALLENGE
Wacom is a Japanese company. Due to historical reasons, many Chinese people are reluctant to buy Japanese brand products. When Wacom planned to enter the Chinese market, they hoped to emphasize the product itself rather than its Japanese origin.
IDEA
Utilize well-known stories related to writing from traditional Chinese culture to emphasize the product's functionality while creating a sense of familiarity for Chinese customers. The story of 'Miao Bi Sheng Hua' (Wonderous Brush Blossoms into Flowers): It is recorded in 'Kaiyuan Tianbao Yishi' that there is a tale about the poet Li Bai. It is said that when Li Bai was young, he dreamt that the tip of his brush blossomed into flowers. Later, he indeed became famous for his grand and bold poetry, renowned throughout China. Therefore, in our promotion, we utilized this story along with numerous Chinese cultural and visual elements.

CHALLENGE
Bamboo is a low-end product by Wacom. It is affordable and targeted at young people who like new products but have limited financial means.
IDEA
Due to China's long-standing one-child policy and the emphasis Chinese people place on early childhood education, the sales of children's products in the Chinese market are very high. Therefore, we expanded our product's target customers from young people to children. In our advertisements, we used children as examples and highlighted the product's simplicity and ease of use. Of course, college students are the primary target audience, so we included a story featuring a female college student as an example as well.
